WMC Health Fair was a success!

Winston Medical Center had a successful Health Fair Tuesday, October 8, 2019, with 37 vendors participating. Despite the rainy morning, many were out early and lined up to take advantage of the free lab tests and free screenings that was being offered.   Upwards of 200 individuals of all ages attended the event which was held in the Multipurpose Room in the Administration Building. The Health Fair included oral cancer screenings, blood sugar checks, lipid screening, kidney function screenings, vision screenings, dementia screenings, flu shots and more!

Education was provided on: Healthier Living, Tobacco Cessation, and Nutrition Education, Women’s Health, Breast Cancer, Mental Health, Medical Alerts, EXCEL by 5, an educational program for children, and how to become an organ donor with MORA.

Brandi Krajewski, Marketing/PR Director, said, “The event was a huge success, and Winston Medical Center hopes those who attended were educated and inspired to enhance their health by the many wellness and health education booths, along with the free screenings offered.  I also want to thank our vendors for participating in this community event, as their support and partnership shows our united bond to enhance and improve the health of our community.”

The mission at Winston Medical Center is to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Winston County and surrounding communities. This includes health and medical education.  “It is our pleasure to host an event with our local community that provides exceptional services to our community every day.  I would also like to specially thank everyone from the community that attended and supported the health fair,” stated, Krajewski.
