IT’S WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE THAT COUNTS!

Dorothy Cockrell said it best when she said, “It’s whats on the inside that counts!”

Dorothy Cockrell is no stranger to Winston County.  She is known for her kind, friendly personality that greeted many customers for many years at Renasant Bank in Louisville.  Today, Mrs. Cockrell is known as one of the first patients to be admitted to the new Winston Medical Center temporary location.
When Mrs. Cockrell arrived for her appointment with Dr. Michael Ard at Winston Medical Clinic-Noxapater, she never thought she would soon be admitted.  “After my appointment with Dr. Ard, I was sent to the hospital where I was later admitted under his care,” said Cockrell.
Mrs. Cockrell was greeted by the familiar faces of Winston Medical Center staff.  The only thing that was not familiar, were the walls and structure of the buildings.  “I remember reading an article in the paper that Winston Medical Center was setting up a temporary hospital since the hospital had been destroyed by the tornado.”  “At the time, I really didn’t pay much attention to the article because honestly, I never imagined that I would be one of the first patient’s admitted there,” said Mrs. Cockrell.
Since being a patient, Mrs. Cockrell has nothing but praises about her entire experience.   “I was grateful for the opportunity to come to Winston Medical Center where my own doctor, Dr. Ard, could care for me.   He knows my medical history.  I didn’t have to get a new doctor and I didn’t have to go to another hospital out of town with individuals that I did not know, said Cockrell.  Cockrell added,  I have everything here I need.   The nurses go over and beyond to provide me with the best care.   I can’t compliment the staff of Winston Medical Center, the Winston Therapy Services staff and Dr. Ard and his staff enough.    The bottom line is, this is a great place and I would encourage anyone to come and try it.  There is no need for any one in our community to go out of town.  The staff at Winston Medical Center can provide you with quality healthcare right here at home without having to drive out of town to get care, Cockrell said.   It is what is on the inside that counts and these employees at Winston Medical Center are the best,” added Cockrell.
“We are encouraged by the support of our community during this time.  Your hospital continues to treat patients daily and our goal is to rebuild stronger and continue to provide the best healthcare services for all of Winston County and surrounding communities,” said Paul Black, CEO.
“Many lost houses during the recent tornado, but home is where your friends and family are.  We lost our hospital building during the tornado, but you did not lose your health care home.  Because it’s what’s on the inside that counts, and inside our walls are the same dedicated staff ready to serve you right at home!
The temporary location of Winston Medical Center is located at 923 South Church Avenue.   Michael Ard, MD and Heather Gilmer, CFNP, are located in the Winston Medical Clinic-Main Campus which is located in front of the WMC Temporary Hospital.  Nancy Jordon, FNP-BC will continue to provide care for patients at the Winston Medical Clinic-Noxapater location.  For more information about Winston Medical Center go to www.winstonmedical.org or like us on Facebook www.facebook.com/winstonmedicalcenter
