On New Year’s Even, people all over the world ring in the New Year. Unfortunately, New Year’s Eve is also one of the worst holidays for car wrecks, fires, and other preventable disasters. Winston Medical Center wants to provide you with a few tips that may help you enjoy your New Year traditions and have a safe and fun New Year’s Eve:
NEVER Drink and Drive! If you can’t find a designated driver call a cab or close friend who will come and pick you up! Don’t risk your life or another persons. Accidents occur the highest between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., so avoid being on the road during those times.
WATCH OUT for other drivers! You may be safe this year but that does not mean that the other driver is!
WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!
BE CAREFUL using fireworks! Burn fireworks in a non-flammable area such as a concrete area. Don’t hold them in your hand. Use caution at all times. Accidents occur frequently during New Year’s with fireworks.
Call your local police station in the event that you see anything illegal or suspicious taking place.
Keep your pets safe and indoors if possible.
Everyone wants to have an unforgettable night — in a good way. By simply using some of the tips above, we can help keep it that way. Ring in the New Year safely.
